Angela from Oak Creek and Ryan from Menomonee Falls met through mutual friends. When Ryan asked Angela to be his wife, he chose the backdrop of the home where the two began their lives together. “I came home from work one day and he was down on one knee alongside our son,” Angela fondly recalls. “He had a bouquet of flowers and champagne, and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together.”
The two planned a rustic, romantic September wedding with both the ceremony and reception at the Sugar Island Barn in Watertown, Wisconsin. Angela’s favorite part of the ceremony was seeing the look on Ryan’s face when he first saw her walking down the aisle in her dress from Miss Ruby Bridal Boutique. “I was very set on having our first look when I walked down the aisle,” she says. “I loved the idea of the whole ceremony coming together and seeing each other for the first time at that moment.”
For the ceremony, the couple had signs made for two very special people who couldn’t be with them: Angela’s brother Robert and Ryan’s grandpa Richard. The signs said “If heaven wasn’t so far away, I know you would be here.” There was one each honoring Robert and Richard by name. Also, when Angela’s brother passed, she was given the gift of a pendant with his fingerprint on it. Angela carried that pendant around her Belle Fiori bouquet of flowers to signify her brother walking with her down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, all photos were taken by Allysha Noelle Photography right on the barn property. “They have a beautiful landscape so it was easy to capture images with different backgrounds,” Angela says. “I was really impressed with our photographer and videographer. They were both so attentive, and if I ever wanted to capture something last-minute, they were on top of it. They both worked well together and had great attitudes the entire time. Highly recommend!”
Ryan and Angela treated guests to a taco and salad bar—plus a dessert bar. “We had everything from cake pops to chocolate-covered Oreos and pretzels, cupcakes, and of course wedding cake. We also ordered pizza from a local restaurant for a late-night snack. We wanted to keep all the food simple, yet fun and enjoyable to everyone.”
Angela says her favorite moment of the reception was just watching Ryan have the time of his life. “It was a lot of fun to watch the excitement and emotions he went through from the ceremony to the moment we had our last dance together.”
While Ryan and Angela haven’t taken their honeymoon yet due to Covid, they have other exciting post-wedding news to share: “We are expecting baby #2!” Congrats to the newlyweds and their sweet family from all of us at Premier Bride!
