Josh and Madeline met at a St. Patrick’s Day party in Chicago in 2015. The crazy part? They actually met through a mutual friend who is the son of the person who introduced Madeline’s parents! Talk about fate.
Josh and Madeline share a love of travel, and in May of 2019, they took a trip to Sweden. “I love the beach, so Josh took us to a private spot in Malmo where he popped the question,” Madeline says. “We got to spend the rest of our trip celebrating.”
Before finding her perfect dress, Madeline tried on about 20 gowns and visited multiple bridal shops. “I had a totally different vision of what I thought I wanted my dress to be. But with the help of the amazing staff at Bella Bianca, I put on my dress and knew it was the one. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by my mom, aunt, sister, and all my close friends. It was such fun finding the one and celebrating with a pop of champagne.”
Madeline and Josh planned an elegant, rustic June wedding at The Barn at The Bog in Saukville, Wisconsin. The Bog is a world-class golf course that also hosts events. They chose a timeless color palette of green, white, and navy. For music, they booked the band Livin the Dream through ACA Entertainment. Livin The Dream is a 6 piece band, complete with a rhythm section and two dynamic singers. “They kept the dance floor moving!”
Because Madeline and Josh wanted an outdoor ceremony for their guests, they were actually married in their church a couple months prior to their Barn at The Bog ceremony. “We were lucky enough to have our priest, Father Wayne Watts, come officiate the Bog ceremony.”The bride and groom have nothing but praise for their experience at The Barn at The Bog: “We fell in love the moment we saw it. We couldn’t recommend a venue more. Maggie and Mike Hammes have done an amazing job. The Barn that they built was what our dreams were made of for a wedding venue. With the addition of the outdoor ceremony site, it was absolutely perfect. Plus the staff and management are the best to work with and made all our wedding dreams come true.”
Dinner and drinks came courtesy of The Bog. For food, there was a harvest salad with roasted butternut squash, candied pecans, cranberries, and balsamic vinaigrette. Entrees included a choice of filet mignon or roasted salmon served with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. For late-night food, there was chicken tenders, mini corn dogs, sliders, and cheese curds.Dessert featured mini cupcakes in flavors of raspberry lemon, brownie, carrot cake, and cookies & cream. There was also a simple vanilla cake with strawberry filling. Guests were treated to an open bar with specialties of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut Champagne, Clark and Telephone Pinot Noir, and a signature spicy margarita. “We loved having the endless amounts of Veuve along with amazing food and drinks from The Bog!”
After dinner and dessert, the dancing started. “We kicked the night off with the band, Livin the Dream. Our friends and family know how to take over the dance floor so the rest of the night was filled with a lot of dancing, drinks, and love. The band made it an unforgettable night.”
