A fun, romantic, and chic celebration of love for two Wisconsinites.

How They Met

It was love at first swipe! Sam and Kyle, who are both from Ixonia, Wisconsin, matched on Tinder in 2015. After dating for several years, Kyle proposed to Sam on Christmas morning in their new home.

The Ceremony and Reception

Sam and Kyle’s wedding was held at the Oconomowoc Community Center. To this day, their favorite part of the ceremony was seeing each other as soon-to-be husband and wife for the first time. They wanted their ceremony to be a reflection of them — fun and laid back. They had 6 flower women who carried petals in fanny packs and danced down the aisle to “Forever” by Chris Brown, paying homage to the iconic scene in “The Office.” When the reception rolled around, it was really just a big party with all of Sam and Kyle’s favorite people!

The Food and Drinks

During the cocktail hour, guests munched on popcorn, mixed nuts, and the couple’s favorite candies, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and peach rings. For dinner, everyone enjoyed beef tips with mushrooms, pork loins, garlic mashed potatoes, green bean almondine, a tossed salad, and rolls, all catered from Glenn’s Market & Catering in Watertown. Their dessert included cheesecake, Italian cookies, and Kwik Trip donuts.

The Décor

The entire wedding was a fun DIY project! Sam’s mom designed all of the wedding flowers, while Sam herself created all of the wedding signage and invitations. She also monogrammed her flower women’s fanny packs. The couple even had custom Green Bay Packers jerseys made with their last name and wedding date for the reception.

The Dress

Sam’s dream wedding dress just so happened to be the very first one she tried on at David’s Bridal. She simply knew the gown was made for her from the moment she saw herself in it!

“Don’t wait until the last minute to start,” Sam recommends. “You can never be too prepared! Also, don’t be afraid to thrift and save money if you have a specific vision.”
