Kelly and Bradley get married at the Golden Mast in Okauchee Wisconsin.

Okauchee Lake Wedding at Golden Mast Inn

A romantic winter wonderland wedding on Okauchee Lake

How They Met

Kelly, an Oconomowac native, and Bradley, who is originally from Pewaukee, first met when Kelly was working at a family member’s store. Bradley was bold enough to ask her out, but she was dating someone at the time. A few years later, the two reconnected at Endter’s Sports Grill in Hartland. One of Bradley’s friends started chatting with Kelly and her friend, and while she thought he looked familiar, she didn’t realize it was the guy who asked her out years prior. Needless to say, they talked all night. They went on their first date two days later. From that day on, the two were an item.

The Engagement

One weekend, Kelly and Brad went on a short hike along the Chapel Gorge Trail in the Dells. He planned the entire agenda for the weekend, which included activities that reminded Kelly of her childhood. They stayed at the motel her mom took the family to every year. On the morning of their engagement, they woke up with the sun, and Bradley held Kelly’s hand the entire way – a rare gesture for him. When they reached the beach, Bradley got down on his knee and proposed to Kelly. They spent the entire weekend on cloud nine as they dined out, went shopping, visited Noah’s Ark, attended a magic show, had fun at the zoo, and relaxed by the pool.

The Dress

Kelly found her dream wedding down at Bucci’s Bridal in Pewaukee. She knew the exact designer she wanted, Made with Love. The brand was having a trunk show, so she was able to try on all of the dresses she saw online and liked. “The one” hugged her right, and it was also Bradley’s favorite. Kelly allowed her groom-to-be to browse the site to see which dress he envisioned her in.

The Rehearsal Dinner

Kelly and Bradley’s rehearsal dinner was a Friday fish fry at the Golden Mast Inn, where they were to be wed the very next day.

The Ceremony

Kelly and Bradley got married at Golden Mast Inn in front of 52 people. The short and sweet ceremony was held in the fireplace room, which offered a cozy, elegant setting. The wedding party consisted of Kelly’s sister as the maid of honor and Bradley’s best friend serving as the best man. Kelly’s niece and Bradley’s nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer.

The Reception

After the stunning, heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests ventured to the main bar at Golden Mast Inn for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while the room was being turned around. The couple had the chance to mingle with all of their loved ones before dinner, which was very special to them. It was important to Kelly and Bradley that they were able to experience their special day with their guests and be a part of their laughter and conversations.

The Photos

Wild Elegance captured photos from every angle of the intimate celebration. There was a huge snowstorm the day of the wedding, which was in January, but it didn’t damper anyone’s spirits. In fact, it was like everyone was “partying in their own snow globe,” Kelly shared. It made for beautiful photos, and with the massive windows and soft lighting, the ambiance couldn’t have been more romantic. With only their immediate families and closest friends present, everyone knew each other, and there was so much love and joy filling the room.

The Décor

The gorgeous floral arrangements were designed by Magnolia Floral in Oconomowoc. The venue had mustard leather chairs in the fireplace room, which Kelly absolutely loved.

The Food and Drinks

For dinner, guests enjoyed seafood scampi, prime rib, chicken princess, and quinoa patties. There was also an all-night open bar for cocktails, beer, wine, and more. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, Kelly and Bradley opted for a sweet, creamy, tangy cheesecake, their favorite!

The Honeymoon

Kelly and Bradley celebrated their newly wedded bliss in Door County for five days. They rented a beautiful home at Death’s Door overlooking the water.

Words of Wisdom from the Bride

“I don’t want to say ‘don’t sweat the little details’ because I LOVE the details, but I would say don’t dwell on them. And once you make a decision, move on to the next!”
