A story of love and fate

The Beginning

Delaney and Alex first met back in September 2017. She had heard about him from a mutual friend of theirs, Dolph, and was excited to learn he’d be at the same party that night. Delaney spent the night standing close to Alex in hopes he would notice her. It wasn’t until a year later, though, when they both swiped right and matched with one another. They had their first date at Red Rock Saloon.

Fast-forward a few years to a weekend in June, when Alex told Delaney he wanted to check out a beer garden at Tenney Park in Madison. However, when Delaney searched for the supposed beer garden online, nothing was listed. This made her suspicious that her boyfriend had something else planned – a proposal, perhaps. When they arrived in Madison, they stopped at Blue Moon Bar & Grill for beer and cheese curds. Since it was raining outside, Delaney doubted a proposal was actually going to happen. Just as the two were ready to head to the “beer garden,” the clouds broke and a rainbow appeared. Alex took a photo of Delaney, which she thought was a bit weird. As they pulled up to the park, Delaney noticed a plethora of cars parked, which made her assume there was an event after all. Alex grabbed some Spotted Cows from the trunk for them to enjoy. As they made it to the spot, Alex got down on one knee and proposed! He even hired a photographer to capture the beautiful moment.

The Celebration

Delaney and Alex got married at Historic Courthouse 1893 in Waukesha on September 9, 2023. Their wedding was a classic, romantic celebration of love, with all of their family and closest friends present. Delaney’s brother Brenton officiated the ceremony, and the couple wrote and recited their own vows to add an extra personal touch. The couple lit a traditional unity candle and invited their mothers to come up and light the two outer candles. The reception, which the couple describes as “a HUGE party,” continued at the same venue. “We just wanted everyone to let loose and dance with us!” No one left the dance floor all night, thanks to the DJ from Sound by Design. All of the married couples participated in an anniversary dance, including Alex’s grandparents, who had been married for 63 years.

The Look

Delaney found her dream wedding dress, a gown designed by Calla Blanche, at Vera’s House of Bridals in Madison. After trying on upwards of 20 dresses, she knew it was “the one” when she couldn’t stop thinking about it, even after visiting another shop.

The Food and Drinks

The wedding menu was cooked and catered by Chef Jack’s. Guests enjoyed chicken en croute and mushroom filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. Appetizers included grilled cheese and tomato shooters and barbecue chicken quesadillas. The wedding cake from Sally’s Sweet Shoppe was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Dessert also included a chocolate liqueur shot in a chocolate shot glass.

The Décor

The color palette of Delaney and Alex’s wedding consisted of rust orange, navy blue, and gold. The venue was adorned with stunning floral arrangements from Belle Fiori.

The Photos and Videos

The Keel Collective and Salem Media Productions captured all of the beautiful moments of Delaney and Alex’s big day.
