Burnt Orange Accents and Rustic Charm in a Barn Wedding

How They Met

Nick and Carley first met at a Milwaukee Admirals game. Nick works for the team and Carley was attending the game. From there, they casually talked for about a year. They ended up running into each other at WCTC, where we both went to college and officially started dating.

How They Got Engaged

“We got engaged on Thanksgiving. We host our families in our garage since it is the only place at our house that will fit everyone! Just before sitting down for dinner, a family friend told me that Nick needed me in the house. So, I walked outside and their he was, standing below the string lights on our back patio. That is where he proposed. We then got to go back in the garage and tell our whole family that we were engaged!”

When we finally got to see them on the day of, we were so amazed at how big and beautiful they were. They certainly exceeded our expectations.”

Reception Details

Location: Barn at Trinity Peak

“We instantly fell in love with Barn at Trinity Peak. In fact, it was the only venue we toured. We loved the history behind the barn and the rustic feel. The property is so well maintained and we knew the outdoor ceremony space was the perfect place for us to get married. The owner, Carolyn, was so welcoming and made our decision very easy.”

Food and Drink: Saz’s Catering | Barn at Trinity Peak
Music & Entertainment: Big Sands Productions
First Dance Song: “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontage

“The reception started with the grand march. Our wedding party had some unique and creative entrances! Nick’s dad then gave a wonderful welcome speech. While everyone was eating, Nick and I went around and took a picture with each table. Nick’s sister, Danielle, and my best friend, Carly, gave speeches. A unique touch was that we had customized cow bells at each place setting as our favors. We chose cow bells because Nick works for a hockey team and because we were in a barn. We instructed everyone to ring the cow bells if they wanted us to kiss, instead of clinking a glass. We did our first dance and then Nick danced with his mom. We also did a bouquet toss and a garter toss. We also had a surprise guest, the Milwaukee Admiral’s mascot Roscoe. He danced with us and took photos with everyone. We then danced the night away!”
